Former Prison Break actor LANE GARRISON was sentenced yesterday to three years and four months in prison for his role in a car crash that killed a teenage passenger. He pleaded guilty earlier this year to DUI and vehicular manslaughter in connection with the December accident, in which he slammed into a tree in Beverly Hills. Seventeen-year-old male passenger VAHAGN SETIAN was killed, and two 15-year-old female passengers were injured. Police said Garrison's blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit at the time of the crash, and that he was also under the influence of cocaine. Garrison was facing up to nearly seven years behind bars.
The judge yesterday refused to accept a petition from classmates and relatives of Setian that called for the 27-year-old actor to receive the maximum sentence, believing the request was inappropriate. Garrison must also pay around 300 thousand dollars in restitution to the victims and their families. His attorney said Garrison, who had also pleaded guilty to providing alcohol to a minor, felt the sentence he received was fair.
Garrison played David "Tweener" Apolskis on Fox's Prison Break.
