TV Potpourri

The previously-announced update of the 1980s series Knight Rider will pull into NBC's schedule in February. Zap2it.com confirms that NBC will air the two-hour movie centering around Michael Knight's son, Mike Tracer, on February 17th. The film could eventually give rise to a Knight Rider series later in the year. Soap star JUSTIN BRUENING will star as Tracer, and actor WILL ARNETT will lend his voice to the super-car KITT. TMZ.com reports that NBC and the producers of America's Got Talent are facing a class-action lawsuit over a text-messaging game featured on the summer reality series. The lawsuit claims the game constitutes illegal gambling, and the plaintiffs -- namely everyone who did not win a prize in the 99-cent contest -- are asking for their money back...


NBC's Deal or No Deal has special episodes lined up for the New Year. The January 2nd show will welcome WILL JIMENO, the 9/11 survivor who inspired MICHAEL PENA's character in OLIVER STONE's movie World Trade Center, as a contestant. A disco-and-1980s-themed Deal or No Deal will air on January 6th, and ELLEN DEGENERES will guest star as a celebrity briefcase model on January 16th...
